Question

in absence of muscle cells, how do plants cells show movements?

Open in App
Solution

Plant cells show two types of movements-Tropic movements and Nastic movements.
1.Tropic movements are growth movements in response to an environment stimulus. This type of movement may occur in reponse to gravity (gravitropism), light (phototropism), chemical (chemotropism), water (hydrotropism) etc.
2.Nastic movements are independent of the direction of stimulus. This type of movement may occur in response to chemicals (chemonasty), temperature (thermonasty), touch (thigmonasty) etc.
So we can conclude that plant cells do not possess muscle cells still they show movements in response to different stimuli.
