Lake can either be fresh water lake or salt water lake. If it is salt water lake then its not possible to drink water from it as it has high concentration of salt. If the lake is fresh water then one can think of drinking it's water but, safety measures (such as boiling, filtration) should be taken to make sure that water remains free of contamination.
