Is virus a cell? If not, why isn't it called a cell?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Virus is not a cell in true sense since it is not capable of replicating itself by its own. It is an infectious agent which can replicate only when present in an living organism.

Hope this answers your query.

Cheers!!!
