It is said in the book that we know it is a living organism when there is molecular movement. But we know from chemistry that particles/molecules in matter are constantly moving! If so, it surely follows that all matter is living?

Movement is one of the criteria for considering any organism living or not. Apart from movement there are other criteria also like reproduction, breathing, stimulus response etc which decide whether the organism is living or non-living.
