Major metropolitan cities are struggling with overpopulation due to migration . What type of migration is it ? Is it a healthy indicator ? How can it be stopped?

It is an internal migration as it is taking place within the country. Such a migration plays a very significant role in changing the composition and distribution of population. One would not regard it a healthy indicator as shows the backwardness of regions, lack investments, opportunities, industrial development of regions.
It also increase the burden on cities, with increase demand for housing facilities, amenities, health , sanitation, it also increases the crime rate.

It can be stopped in the following manner:

a. To encourage better investments in backward areas.
b. Creating more job opportunities.
c. Creating educational opportunities in areas which are backward.
d. Improving standard of living of people in those areas by having better health, housing, sanitation.
