Names are given according to codes of nomenclature. The are five codes of nomenclature:
1. ICBN (International Code of Botanical Nomenclature)- Provides name to plants
2. ICZN (International Code of Zoological Nomenclature)- Provides names to animals
3. IC Bac N (International Code of Bacterial Nomenclature)- Provides names to bacteria
4. ICVN (International Code of Viral Nomenclature)-Provides names to viruses
5. ICNCP(International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants)- Provides names to cultivated plants
