Question

Q 1. A 25.0ml sample of hydrogen peroxide decomposes producing 50.0ml of oxygen gas in 137 s. what is the rate of formation of O2 (oxygen gas)in ml/min

Solution

There is simple mathematics involved
Convert 137 s into minute.
60 s = 1 min.
Then 137 s = 137/60 = 2.28 min.
If 50 ml of oxygen is produced in 2.28 min.
Then rate of formation of oxygen would be : 50 ml / 2.28 min. = 21.93 ml/min.
