In sexually reproducing organisms gamete is a haploid cell that fuses with other haploid cell during fertilization to give rise to a diploid cell called as zygote. Gamete is haploid (n) while zygote is diploid (2n). Zygote is formed by the fusion of two types of gametes that is male and female gametes.
b). i) Female gametes also have 24 chromosomes.
ii) Zygote have 48 chromosomes (24 pairs).
