Open in App
Solution

  • Oxygenated blood is the blood that carries oxygen. It travels from heart to different parts of the body through arteries and supply oxygen to them. While deoxygenated blood is the blood that lacks oxygen. Such blood is transported by veins from different parts of the body back to the heart.
  • Oxygenated blood from the lungs enters the left auricle of heart through the pulmonary vein. At the same time, deoxygenated blood collected from the body enters into the right auricles through inferior and superior vena cava.
  • When both the ventricles of heart are filled with blood, they contract. As a result of contraction, the oxygenated blood from left ventricle passes to the various parts of the body through aorta whereas the deoxygenated blood from right ventricles are carried to the lungs for purification by pulmonary artery.
