Show that a-b, a and a=b are three consecutive terms of an A.P.?

Open in App
Solution

Let a1 = a - b ; a2 = a ; a3 = a + b
now, a2 - a1 = a - (a - b) = a - a + b = b
and a3 - a2 = (a + b) - a = a + b - a = b
since, a2 - a1 = a3 - a2 = b
so, the given terms are in AP.
