Show that a-b, a and a=b are three consecutive terms of an A.P.?

Solution

Let a₁= a - b ; a₂= a ; a₃= a + b
now, a₂- a_{1 =}a - (a - b) = a - a + b = b
and a₃- a₂= (a + b) - a = a + b - a = b
since, a₂- a₁= a₃- a₂= b
so, the given terms are in AP.
