1) Prejudice and stereotyping causes rift in the society as people generalize a person based on his/her caste, gender and social standing. These are not always true and may lead to various types of conflicts among two or more groups.

2) Three harmful effects of discrimination are:

(i) Inferiority complex among those who are discriminated against. Eg. A person from a lower caste will feel that he is not good enough.

(ii) Fear among the discriminated community/ individual.

(iii) Division in society between castes, rich-poor and gender.
