How was copper discovered and what were it uses?

Copper was used for the first time in 9000 BCE. Since it was first used in pre-historic times, there are no written records available. Therefore we cannot say who or how it was discovered. Copper is a soft metal and is easily available. Thus it was easier to shape copper into coins, decorative items etc.
Some of the uses of copper were to make tools, ornaments, vessels and weapons.
