Question

An object uniformly accelerates along a straight line with an acceleration of 8 m/s2. At time zero, the object is at x = −6 and it is moving with a velocity of 2.8 m/s.

What is the velocity of the object at time, t = 4 s?

Solution

Since acceleration is constant throughout the motion, 8 m/s2.
Using the formula v = u + at, we get
v = 2.8m/s + 8m/s2 x 4 s
Therefore the velocity at time t = 4 s is 34.8 m/s
