Take 50ml of water, milk and salt water in 3 different contain and find out the time take for it to boil
-why is it different for different liquids
-what is density?has it got any relation with the boiling point?if so, what?
-how does addition of salt to water affect its boiling point?
-boiling point is an important parameter for finding the purity od liqiud discuss.
Dears student!
There we find difference in the time taken for different liquid is due to their different boiling points which is dependent on the nature of substance, its viscosity, molecular structure and intermolecular bonding pattern which is entirely different for water, milk and salt water solution.
Density is the mass of the substance found in per unit volume of it. In simple way density describes the maximum availability of particles in given volume of the sample. It is inversely proportional to temperature hence higher the boiling point lower the density.
After adding a salt in the water ,then the vapor pressure of the water lowers which increases the boiling point of water.
Actually boiling point varies with even little impurities present in the compounds and so when we know the boiling point of pure substance we can compare it with the b.pt obtained for impure substance and we could get the difference and degree of impurities.
