Seedling comes out of the germinating seeds. Seedling consists of the radicle ( primary root) and embryonic shoot. Embryonic shoot comprises of the cotyledons (seed leaves), the section of shoot below the cotyledons (hypocotyl), and the section of shoot above the cotyledons (epicotyl). First the radicle emerges out of the seed to anchor the seedling with the soil and also to absorb water. Then, the shoot emerges.
