Question

the maximum pressure that a 4 L vessel can hold is 3.50 atm. If the vessel contains 0.410 mol of gas. what is the maximum temperature in degree celsius to which this vessel can be subjected

Solution

We know that:
PV = nRT

Given:
P = 3.5 atm
V = 4L
n = 0.410 Mol

R will be 0.082 L atm K−1 mol−1

Thus,
T = PV/nR
= 3.5 x 4 / 0.410 x 0.082
= 14/ 0.03362
T = 416.41 K
