Question

the perimeter of a rectangle is 188 metre. If its length is 4m more than twice its breadth find the length, breadth and area

Open in App
Solution

Suppose the breadth of the rectangle is x.
Then length of the rectangle = (2x + 4)
And perimeter of rectangle = 2{x + (2x + 4)} = 188 m
2{3x+4} = 1886x+8 = 188x = 1806 = 30
So breadth of rectangle = 30 m
And length of rectangle = 2×30+4 = 60+4 = 64 m
Therefore area = 64×30 = 1920 m2
