Solution

Let length of the smallest side of a is x cmthen, length of the second side = x + 4 cmand length of third side = 2x - 6 cmThen perimeter of a given = x + x + 4 + 2x - 6 cm = 4x - 2 cmBut perimeter of a given = 50 cmHence, 4x - 2 = 50 4x = 50 + 2 4x = 52 x = 524 = 13 cmHence, the smallest side = 13 cm second side = 13 + 4 = 17 cm & third side = 2 × 13 - 6 = 20 cmHence, a = 13 cm, b = 17 cm and c = 20 cm s = a + b + c2 s = 13 + 17 + 202 = 502 = 25 cm

Area of = s s - a s - b s - c = 25 25 - 13 25 - 17 25 - 20 = 25 × 12 × 8 × 5 = 5 × 5 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 5 = 2 × 2 × 5 2 × 3 × 5 = 20 30 sq. cm = 20 × 5.477 sq. cm = 109.54 sq. cm
