trace the growth of food grain production in India since independence
After independence India is aiming at self sufficiency in the food grains. For this reason various strategies have been adopted. One of the most popular strategies is Green Revolution which mainly focuses on increasing the production of wheat using scientific methods. After a huge success of Green Revolution, rice revolution has also been started. Since then India is registering a growth in the foodgrain production. The leading states are Panjab and Haryana. India has become foodgrain sufficient because a variety of crops are grown in India but still more needs to be done.
