Tractors are designed to run on a wide variety of rough terrain. This requires the tyres to withstand large forces. By increasing the width, we are actually increasing the area of contact with the ground so that a lesser pressure is applied.

This reduces the wear and ear on the tyre and enables it to work more efficiently as well.
