Viruses are on the border line of living and non- living. Some of their traits resemble to living organisms while some to non- living. There is still a controversy among scientists and researchers to consider them living or non- living.

Some of the features which resemble to living are:

• The have their own genetic material.
• They are capable of reproduction
• They have host specificity i.e. certain virus attack only certain type of living organisms.

So, sometimes viruses are called a living entity.
