Dear Student!

C-60 is called as buckminsterfullerene which is an allotrope of carbon . It is a spherical fullerene molecule with a formula of C60 . It has a cage like structure similar to a soccer ball.

It is made from graphite as:

Graphite --(electric arc)--> Vaporized carbon --(condensation)--> Fullerene soot --(chromatography)--> C60 +C70

Uses: It could be used in nanotechnological applications and also in medicinal use for some antibiotics and cancer researches.
