Ray florets Disc Florets
Petals are laterally fused, elongated with three or four small upper lobes. These ray florets look like petalsThe petals are fused into a tube with 3-5 apical lobes. Many tiny, vertical florets are tightly packed so that we see only the top of each disk floret.
Ray florets are either female means they have a pistil or they are neutral & if present they are sterile.They are either bisexual, or male containing fertile stamen & mostly a sterile pistil.
Ray florets are arranged around the circumference of flower.Disk florets make up the center of a flower head.
