The golgi apparatus also known as golgi complex can be simply understood as a factory, what this factory exactly does is that it recieves the proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum. These proteins are then futher processed and transported to their individual destinations or may be secreted. Since the golgi apparatus recieves proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum therefore it is closely associated with it.
Proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum enters the golgi body at the terminal known as cis face which goes towards the nucleus and are transported through the golgi and exits from the terminal known as trans face. So, the entry point of protein is the cis face and the exit point is trans face.
