The feature of ​Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)​ are as follows :

• It was launched in December 2000.
• It is targeted at the poorest of the families among BPL families covered under targeted PDS identified.
• It contemplates on providing 25 kg. of food grains per month at highly subsidised rates of Rs. 2 per kg. for wheat and Rs. 3 per kg. for rice to each Antyodaya family.
