Solution

Bacteriophage are viruses that can infect a bacterium and is capable of replicating inside its host bacterium. Its structure is very simple, consisting of an outer protein coat which protect inner nucleic acids either DNA or RNA. In some bacteriophages genetic information is in the form of DNA inside the protein coat. This genetic material i.e. DNA in this case, carry information needed for the replication of its own DNA and for the synthesis of its outer protective protein sheath. But for the replication of bacteriophage DNA bacterial cell is required. It can not replicate its DNA outside the host cell.
