Green and yellow pods are two types of trait (character) present in the pea plant.

These traits are formed by the combination of either of two alleles Y or y.

Y allele is dominant over y allele.

If a plant has Yy or YY allele combination in a gene than it will produce green pods but if it has yy allele combination in a gene than it will produce yellow pods.
