There occurs chromosomal disorders due to excess or absence of one or more chromosomes in our body.
Down's syndrome occurs due to the presence of an extra chromosome number 21. The person with Down's syndrome has round face, broad forehead, permanently open mouth, short neck and furrowed tongue.
Similarly due to deletion of short arm of chromosome number 5, a syndrome called Cri du chat occurs which is characterised by cry like kitten and moon like face of the affected person.
