There is nothing like catenation compound. But we can explain the term catenation and its presence in different compounds.

The tendency of an element to form long chain compounds or rings compounds by forming the bonds between its atom is known as catenation. There are many elements in nature which shows catenation such as Carbon, Silicon, phosphorus and sulphur but the maximum is in case of carbon . Due to catenation large variety of carbon compounds exist in nature which are studied in specified branch of chemistry called organic chemistry.
