In pulley system, also known as moats, pulleys are used to carry buckets of water where they are needed. It is a cheap and useful way to carry water to plants and soil. Strong rope will hold this pulley-based irrigation system together.
In chain system container is attached to a wheel. The wheel with attached container rotates through water body like wells. And some water is collected by container which then irrigate the fields when it moves to the top.
