Open in App
Solution

Pollen tube enter the embryo sac of ovule with two male gametes. One male gamete fuses with egg cell to form a zygote and other fuses with the diploid secondary nucleus (formed by the fusion of two polar nuclei) as a result triploid primary endosperm nucleus (PEN) is formed. As there is two types of fusion takes place inside ovule of angiosperm so this is called as double fertilization.
