What is Ozone and how does it affect an ecosystem?

Ozone is the form of oxygen,its a triatomic molecule .Ozone forms a layer called as the ozone layer in our atmosphere . The ozone layer wards off harmful ultraviolet radiations from the sun and thus protects the living organims but if this layer gets depleted than the ultra violet radiations will directly reach the earth leading to various skin diseases and cancers.
