Both protozoans and bacteria are microorganisms.

Protozoans are unicellular( single celled)), eukaryotic(membrane bound organelles are present inthe cell structure e.g. nucleus, golgi body etc.) organisms that are mainly motile. They are studied under thekingdom protista.Whereas bacteria are prokaryotic i.e. they do not have any membrane bound structures inside the cell or propernucleus, these are simplest of organisms found and in extremities. They are studied under the kingdom monera.
