Question

what is the composition of the cell wall of archaebacteria

Open in App
Solution

Cell wall of archaebacteria is different from eubacteria in composition. It does not contain peptidoglycan. Rather, archaebacteria such as methanobacteria contain pseudopeptidoglycan or pseudomurein which is different from peptidoglycan due to the absence of D-amino acids and N-Acetyl muramic acid.
