What is the difference between dry deposition and wet deposition ?
1) The deposition of atmospheric dust on earth’s surface due to gravitation is known as dry deposition whereas the deposition occurring due to precipitation is known as wet deposition.
2) The dry decomposition varies from place to place more than wet decomposition.
3) The air chemistry affecting dry decomposition is mainly that in air in contact with the surface whereas the air chemistry affecting wet decomposition is mainly at the cloud level.
4) For wet deposition, a few locations can be used to represent regional values which then represent the wet decomposition of all the areas near the stations where measurements are obtained whereas this is not the case with dry decomposition.
