Solution

Woolly dog is also known as Salish wool dog. It is an extinct breed of dog which was white, long haired and spitz type dog.Salish dog was artificially developed dog breed which was selected by the Salish people for its hair. Its hair were used for making blankets as these people did not have sheep or mountain goat with them to use to get wool. Salish dog was a member of Canidae family of class Mammalia.

Sheep is another hairy organism of the family Bovidae of class Mammalia.

Nowadays, sheep is used for wool instead of woolly dog because it got extinct long time back.
