Pons varolii is a band of nerve fibres in the brain connecting the lobes of the midbrain, medulla, and cerebrum. The pons relays sensory information between the cerebellum and cerebrum and aids in relaying other messages in the brain as well. It also controls arousal and regulates respiration.
