Question

what is the reason for the decrease in conductivity of metal with rise in temperature

Open in App
Solution

Dear student!

Actually, electrons are responsible for carrying charge and the electrons flow systematically in one direction and causes the metal to conduct electricity and maintain conductivity . But, when temperature is increased, the electrons get excited and this causes them to move in random manner which disturbs the flow of charge and conductivity of the metal decreases.
