what is the role of glmerulus in the kidney

Open in App
Solution

Glomerulus is a network of capillaries present at the top of the nephron which acts as a filter when blood passes through the nephron. The blood flow enters the glomerulus and passes through it towards the tubule of nephron. While passing through glomerulus the larger particles like blood cells, proteins, fat particles get obstructed here and the liquid portion of the blood with smaller particles flow out of it.
