Pepsin is a protein digesting enzyme which remains inside the digestive juice secreted by the stomach. It digests and converts protein into peptones and proteoses.
Peptides are short chains of amino acid monomers linked by peptide bonds when the carboxyl group of one amino acid reacts with the amino group of another.
Peptones are the cleavage products obtained by the partial hydrolysis of protein.
