What is the significance of increasing GFR(Glomerular Filteration Rate)?

Glomerular filteration rate signifies the filteration of plasma serum through kidneys. The kidneys are filter for blood and GFR is the measure of filteration.
Therefore if the GFR is high this would signify kidney failure as kidneys tightly regulate the GFR as it filters only certain substance, so if kidney failure occur this signifies very high filteration rate (increased GFR)
