Question

What makes dark colour absorb radiation and light colour reflect it? Is it molecular spaces or something else?

Solution

Black colour absorbs most of the radiation because the electrons inside the black body convert nearly all of the radiation falling on it in to heat energy. Other colours only can convert a part of the falling radiation to heat and so they partly reflect some part of the radiation falling on them.
