We know that when see something of some specific colour , it is the the colour of light that is being reflected by it .Let say a rose . Rose will reflect only red light and will absorbed all other light. So on this basis , can we say that the energy of rose is increasing since it is absorbing some amount of light(light is also a form of energy)?

We know that white light comprises of seven colours-VIBGYOR. A red object say a rose abosorbs all other colours except red and this red colour is reflected back into our eye .Absorption of a other colours other than red occurs through resonance. When the frequency of a light wave matches the resonant frequency of an object, then the object vibrates at that frequency.The energy of the light wave stays in that object as thermal or vibrational energy.
