Solution

Asoka spread the message of love, peace and compassion through his inscriptions. He appointed ministers called dhamma mahamattas to spread this message and also sent envoys to spread his message to other lands. He pursued the policy of non-violence or ahimsa. He prohibited the unnecessary slaughter of animals. He adopted Buddhism and became its patron, constructing large stupas around the country to spread its message. He addressed his people as children and stressed them to follow the dhamma or proper behaviour.
