When a swimming pool is kept under the sun why does not the water evaporate?
Evaporation is a surface phenomenon, water in a swimming pool evaporates but the heat of the sun is not sufficient to fully dry the pool. This process accelerates when the temperature of the pool water is higher than the air's temperature. Coldwater is more resistant to evaporation.
U may observe this by entering the pool the upper surface of the pool will feel warmer than lower water.
