when the pressure is decreased then why does the boiling point of water reduces? for e.g. why does the boiling point of water reduces in hill stations like mussoorie?

Boiling point is defined as the temperature at which vapor pressure becomes equal to atmospheric pressure.

At hill stations, the atmospheric pressure is low, so the required vapor pressure is less and attained at a lower temperature.
