Open in App
Solution

When we fall ill, the immune system of our body starts responding and initiates the defense mechanisms against the infections by releasing antibodies. The reactions that take place between the antibodies and pathogens release heat which results in the rise in body temperature. The medical name of this temperature rise is pyrexia.
