Question

where are digestive enzymes of lysosomes synthesised ?how are they transported

Open in App
Solution

The precursors of hydrolytic enzymes present inside lysosomes are mostly synthesised at the rough endoplasmic reticulum which transfers them to the Golgi complex. In Golgi complex, the precursors are changed to enzymes and are packed in larger vesicles which are pinched off from the Golgi complex. These vesicles are finally joined by endosomes to produce lysosomes.
