Question

Which is directly proportional to resistance andWhich is inversely proportional to resistance?

Open in App
Solution

Since, resistance of a conductor is given by :
R = ρlA
where, l is the length of the conductor, A is the area of cross- section of conductor and ρ is the electrical resistivity of the material of the conductor.
From this, we can conclude that resistance (R) of the conductor is directly proportional to the length and electrical resistivity of the material of the conductor and is inversely proportional to the area of cross - section of the conductor.
Hope it will you.
