which of the following has higher boiling point and why.-0.1M NaCl or 0.1M GLUCOSE

Open in App
Solution

Perfectly answered Pradeep :
I need to tell Akhil
that
NaCl ------> Na+ + Cl-
Glucose is neutral so it doesn't ionise
Thus, i ( NaCl ) = 2
i(Glucose)= 1

Hence for the same molality or even molarty in wg of glucose and NaCl of both,
The elevation in boiling point for NaCl is more than glucose.

as,

Used formula
ΔTb = iKfm

Hence NaCl will have higher boiling point.
